May is Mental Health Month

At Hopewell, we take every opportunity to educate both our residents and their loved ones about mental health. Some of the coping mechanisms we provide are Cognitive Behavior Therapy (talk therapy focused on the "here and now'"), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (based on Buddhist meditative practice), as well as equine, art and nature therapies all based in a therapeutic community.

Arizona tragedy brings to light flaws in the mental health system.

Today, on the Diane Rehm show, she discussed, "Serious Psychiatric Disorders Among Young Adults." As you might have heard, the Arizona shooter had a history of mental illness.
